Masterpieces of Bach in Full. In 2025, Les Folies françoises will celebrate their twenty-fifth anniversary. Drawing from this quarter-century of award-winning concerts and recordings dedicated to the Cantor, the ensemble will present the complete Brandenburg Concertos on Bach's birthday—a rare concert experience! Composed around 1721, this unique corpus marks a major turning point in the history of music. With these six concertos, Bach demonstrated his unparalleled mastery of the concertante form, brilliantly exploring the sonic possibilities of the Baroque orchestra. Each concerto is a musical microcosm, combining virtuosity, contrapuntal complexity, and emotional expressiveness—emblematic works of the Baroque period.

Martine Argellies has been a harpsichord maker since 1981. Her workshop, located in Montpellier, is one of the last in France specializing in harpsichord production. Her passion for the Baroque musical repertoire—of which the harpsichord, with its pedal-free and plucked-string design, is a key emblem—along with her love for craftsmanship, guided her career choices.
In her late teens, she joined a friend who owned a piano shop. She then studied with a cabinetmaker before teaching herself the craft over a decade. Together with the two team members who now work alongside her, she produces about a dozen instruments per year, a quarter of which are destined for export.
